Our ASTM Gr40 6mm steel bar is a dual-purpose building material produced directly from the factory for global construction and hardware markets. At 6mm diameter, this product bridges the gap between traditional deformed reinforcing bar and precision threaded rod—supplied with rolled-on ribbing and optional full-thread cutting to serve as both concrete reinforcement and mechanical fastening elements.
Manufactured to ASTM A615 Grade 40 standards, this low-carbon steel bar offers a minimum yield strength of 40,000 psi (276 MPa), providing reliable tensile performance for light structural framing, masonry wall reinforcement, precast panel connections, and general-purpose threaded anchor applications. The 6mm size is particularly valued for its ease of handling, manual bendability, and compatibility with light-gauge formwork and residential-scale concrete work.

The manufacturing process:
Raw material preparation: Use high quality carbon structural steel or low alloy steel as raw material.
Heating: The steel is heated to a certain temperature to make it malleable.
Rolling: The steel is rolled into the required diameter and shape through a rolling mill and ribbed on the surface.
Cooling: The rolled steel is cooled by a cooling device to ensure its properties.
Inspection: The finished steel bars are inspected for quality, including size, strength, bending performance and other indexes.
Packaging and storage: Qualified steel bars are packaged and stored in a dry and ventilated environment.
Factory-Direct Advantages
Small-Diameter Precision: At 6mm, our rolling mills maintain tight diameter control (±0.3mm) ensuring consistent weight per meter and predictable concrete cover in thin slabs and masonry walls.
Threading Compatibility: The low carbon equivalent of Gr40 steel allows clean thread rolling or cutting without galling. Full-thread rods can be produced directly from deformed bar stock, saving you the cost of purchasing separate threaded rod inventory.
Manual Workability: 6mm bar can be bent by hand or with simple hand tools on site, eliminating the need for powered rebar benders on small residential and repair jobs.
Bundle Flexibility: We offer mixed-bundle loading—combining deformed, plain, and threaded 6mm bars in a single container—to reduce your SKU count and simplify procurement.
Export Packaging: Bars are bundled in 1.5–2.0 MT lifts with steel strapping and woven wrap, sized for easy unloading at port and handling by small-site cranes or manual crews.
Building & Hardware Applications
Residential Concrete: Floor slab distribution bars, driveway mesh alternatives, stair tread reinforcement, and small footing ties
Masonry Construction: Bed joint reinforcement in block walls, lintel bar substitutes, and control joint dowels
