Q: What does Z100 mean, and is it sufficient for outdoor roofing?
A: Z100 indicates 100 g/m² of zinc coating total on both sides (approximately 7 μm per side). For dry or mild inland climates, Z100 with a quality prepainted topcoat provides adequate protection for 10–15 years. For coastal, high-humidity, or industrial-polluted environments, we recommend upgrading to Z120, Z140, or Z275 substrate, or selecting an SMP/HDP/PVDF topcoat system to compensate.
Q: Will the color fade, and how do you control batch-to-batch consistency?
A: All organic coatings experience gradual chalking and color shift under UV exposure. PE coatings fade fastest; PVDF offers superior color retention. We control batch consistency through spectrophotometer monitoring during coating, strict solvent and pigment weighing, and computerized color matching. For large projects requiring multiple coil batches, we recommend ordering the full quantity from a single production run to eliminate inter-batch variation.
Q: Can I order a custom color not in the RAL book?
A: Yes. We accept custom color matching against physical samples (facade panels, fabric swatches, or painted chips). Minimum order quantities apply for custom colors—typically 20–25 MT for PE/SMP and 10 MT for PVDF. Lead time extends by 5–7 days for pigment procurement and color approval.
