Q235 is one of the most important structures used in the construction and manufacturing industries, which is a perfect example of how to balance cost-effectiveness and structural safety. Due to its tensile strength of ≥235 MPa and excellent workability and formability according to Chinese standards, this material has become very popular in many fields. The code reflects its main characteristics. The letter "Q" stands for tensile strength, and the number "235" stands for minimum tensile strength. The cross-section of the I-beam is U-shaped, forming vertical "flanges" and horizontal "webs." This structure improves the strength-to-weight ratio and ensures effective resistance to bending and deformation. I-beam Q235 steel is typically 6 to 12 meters long and comes in standard sizes from 5# to 40#. Technical specifications determine the height, width, and thickness of the flanges.

Hot rolling and cold rolling methods are used to manufacture Q235 steel profiles. Hot-rolled profiles are produced by heating the steel raw materials to a temperature of approximately 1200 °C and continuously rolling them until the final U-shaped cross-section is achieved, thus achieving high strength suitable for heavy structures. Cold-rolled profiles are manufactured at room temperature using bending or rolling machines. This process ensures greater dimensional accuracy and a smoother surface, making them ideal for precision manufacturing applications. Surface treatments further enhance functionality: a zinc coating significantly increases corrosion resistance in outdoor conditions, while a primer and top coat.

Q235 steel profiles are an important part of many industries. In construction, these steel profiles are mainly used as structural elements such as beams, bridge girders, and scaffolding. They are often combined with I-beams to support roofs, walls, and balconies in commercial and industrial buildings. In the transportation industry, Q235 steel profiles are used in the manufacture of vehicle chassis, trailers, and train bogies, where their balanced strength and durability enable them to withstand dynamic loads. In infrastructure projects, Q235 steel profiles are widely used for bridge supports, highway safety barriers, and scaffolding for power line poles. In the industrial sector, these profiles are used in mechanical engineering, conveyor supports, and safety equipment. It is important to note that the effectiveness of the structure depends on proper installation methods. Optimal performance is achieved when the profiles are installed vertically. In this configuration, the load is concentrated on the flange rather than the core, maximizing the load-bearing capacity.
