A: Cold-rolled sheets: 0.3–6.0 mm; width 10–2000 mm; length cut to order; hot-rolled medium-thick plates: 3–60 mm.
Q: Why does the hardness vary across the same plate?
A: Martensitic stainless steel hardenability is significantly affected by thickness; for plates >10 mm, the core hardness may be 3-5 HRC lower than the surface. To achieve uniformity, incorporate the “deep cryogenic treatment + secondary tempering” process and specify in the contract: “Hardness difference at 1/2 T thickness ≤2 HRC.”
Q: How rust-resistant are these materials? Will they rust overnight?
A: Indoor environments: Polished 420 series won't rust within six months; 440C, with its higher chromium content, actually offers better resistance to pitting corrosion.
