441 Grade Chemical Composition and Technical Property is as below:
Standard | C % max | Si max | Mn max | P max | S max | tensile strength(MPa) | yield strength(MPa) | Elongation% |
441 | 0.03 | 1 | 1 | 0.04 | 0.015 | ≥495 | ≥302 | ≥35 |
Density: 7.7 g/cm³, melting point: approximately 1,510 °C, continuous service temperature: ≤ 950 °C; short-term oxidation resistance with intact oxide film up to 1,000 °C, significantly outperforming grades 430 and 304.
It exhibits good corrosion resistance, performing well in atmospheric environments, fresh water, weak acids, weak alkalis, and automotive exhaust containing condensate. Furthermore, after Ti+Nb stabilization, it does not exhibit the typical intergranular corrosion seen in 430 stainless steel post-welding.
Welding and Machinability: Ferritic structures exhibit poor low-temperature toughness. For plate thicknesses exceeding 3 mm, preheating at 150–200 °C prior to welding reduces cracking risk. Post-weld heat treatment is unnecessary to maintain intergranular corrosion resistance.
Automotive Exhaust System: Due to its excellent high temperature and corrosion resistance, 441 stainless steel is widely used in the manufacture of automotive exhaust system components such as exhaust manifolds, front pipes and mufflers.
Heat Exchangers and Boilers: In industrial heat exchangers and boilers, 441 stainless steel is used to produce components that can withstand high temperatures and corrosive environments.
Kitchen Equipment: Used in the manufacture of kitchen utensils and equipment, particularly in applications where heat and corrosion resistance are required, such as oven internals and hotplates.
Chemical Equipment: Due to its good corrosion resistance, 441 stainless steel is also suitable for the manufacture of pipes and tanks in chemical equipment.

Q: Does 441 stainless steel plate rust?
A: It remains rust-free in “mildly corrosive” environments like kitchen exhaust fumes, weak acid rain, and condensation. However, rust spots may still appear in coastal areas with high chlorine fog or chemical acid/alkali splashes, requiring regular rinsing.
Q: What surface finishes are available for stainless steel sheets?
A:Cold-rolled 0.3-3.0 mm: 2B (matte finish), BA (bright finish), HL (brushed finish), Ti Gold/Black Titanium coating.
Q: What is the warranty period?
A: 5 years rust-free in indoor dry environments; 8 years for automotive exhaust pipes. In coastal areas, regular rinsing can extend the warranty period by 30%.
