The 301, 302, and 303 stainless steel sheets, being part of the chromium-nickel austenitic family, each offer distinct advantages that cater to different industrial needs:
301 Stainless Steel Sheet:
Hardenability: The 301 sheet is particularly noted for its ability to be work-hardened. This makes it suitable for applications where increased strength is required after forming processes. It's ideal for parts that need to maintain high strength after being shaped.
302 Stainless Steel Sheet:
Balance of Corrosion Resistance and Strength: The 302 sheet provides a good compromise between corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. This makes it suitable for applications where both durability and resistance to environmental factors are important.
303 Stainless Steel Sheet:
Machinability: The 303 sheet is optimized for machining processes. It contains sulfur additions that improve its machinability, making it easier to cut and shape. This makes it ideal for parts that require extensive machining.
All three types are available in hot rolled black skin state, which retains a scale finish from the hot rolling process. This state offers excellent plasticity and formability, making them versatile for various forming processes such as deep drawing, bending, or machining. The sheets can be processed to achieve an industrial-grade corrosion-resistant surface through solution treatment and oxide scale shot blasting.
The availability in thicknesses ranging from 0.3-20 mm thickness and 60-2000 mm widths allows for flexibility in choosing the right size for specific applications, ensuring they can meet a wide range of industrial requirements.
All material stainless steel sheet plate and stainless steel coil can be supplied, cut to length.

301:
Characteristics: Strength doubles after cold rolling, reaching 1250 MPa, while retaining some ductility. Magnetic.
Applications: Train car panels, automotive structural reinforcements, spring washers, conveyor belt crossbars, drone landing gear.
302:
Characteristics: Higher nickel content than 301, corrosion resistance接近304; excellent formability and weldability.
Applications: Kitchen sinks, decorative trim, hose braiding, washing machine drums, food conveyor spirals; serves as a cost-effective alternative to 304 for general-purpose applications.
303:
Characteristics: Contains 0.15% or more sulfur, offering 30–40% higher machining efficiency than 304 with superior surface finish; however, corrosion resistance is slightly reduced and deep drawing is not possible.
Applications: Screw machine parts, valve stems, pump shafts, nuts, medical screws, watch screws, office equipment shafts.

Q: Which is the most rust-resistant—301, 302, or 303?
A: 302 is comparable to 304 in performance, suitable for everyday kitchen use and outdoor environments. 301 has slightly lower chromium content, resulting in marginally inferior corrosion resistance. 303, due to its sulfur content, offers the poorest rust resistance and should only be used in dry indoor settings or inside machine enclosures.
Q: For mass-producing screws on automatic lathes, which one should you choose?
A: 303 is the “King of Lathes.” It offers superior chip breaking, extends tool life by 40%, and achieves 78% cutting efficiency (compared to B1212), while 304 only reaches 45%. However, 303 is not suitable for welding and should not be used near the coast.
Q: What types of surface finishes are suitable?
A: 302 can easily achieve a mirror finish with 8K polishing; 301 is recommended to be brushed with HL finish after cold working to conceal surface imperfections; 303 exhibits deep machining marks and can only be finished with short-stroke brushing using grits below 240.
